Ian Buxton’s guide to 101 World Whiskies to Try Before You Die is an excellent source for discovering whiskies beyond the obvious and usual suspects. The book covers some of the well-known whisky-producing countries (such as Scotland, the USA, and Canada) as well as some that may come as a surprise to you (for example, Australia, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, and South Africa).

The whiskies included in this list aren’t rare and inaccessible beasties with a corresponding huge price tag either. Instead, all the whiskies are affordable and easily obtainable so that you can enjoy as many of them as possible. Let me know if you manage to sample all 101 (and the special bonus 102nd) included in the book!
