Let Our Whisky Wordles Help You!
So many whiskies in the world… and that’s a good thing, right? Right! But so much choice can be just a tad confusing at times. Which whisky is best for you?
Well, we’re nothing if not helpful folks. And so what we’ve done is make some whisky wordles to help you choose. Some whisky whatsits?!
A “wordle” is essentially a “word cloud”. A picture is supposedly worth a thousand words. And a picture of a thousand words is worth…? Well, in this case, worth a whisky, I guess!
What we did was trawl through lots and lots of whisky tasting notes for each distillery’s various bottlings. We carefully wrote down all the adjectives that were used to describe the whiskies, and then we turned our list of adjectives into a wordle. The more times a word appears on our list, the bigger it is in the wordle. In other words, the larger words are the predominant ways in which people have described whiskies from each distillery.
Now, we know that each distillery produces several different bottlings, each with their own taste. But… overall, each distillery has a “signature” taste. This signature taste usually comes through regardless of the bottling, although it is modified of course. Maybe one day we’ll get around to doing a wordle for every single bottling that exists in the world, at which point we’ll be more pickled than Keith Richards. For now, however, we’ll stick with one for each distillery. As we add distilleries to our site, their wordles will appear here and on each distillery’s page.
Use the wordles to hone in on a specific distillery whose taste sensations you may enjoy. Start with their standard offering and then branch out into one of their special editions. Click on each wordle to view the page on each distillery.
