Flying Scotsman Cocktail Recipe

Use your favourite Scotch whisky for the Flying Scotsman. In fact, try it with a few different varieties of Scotch to see what difference they make to the taste. I’d love to say try a few of these all on the same night, but methinks that after a couple you may not be tasting the nuances of the cocktail so much!

What you need

  • 2 shots of Scotch whisky
  • 2 shots of sweet vermouth
  • 1/4 shot of sugar syrup
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters

What you do

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour all the ingredients into it. This one is stirred, not shaken, so get yourself one of those jazzy cocktail bar spoon thingies (or just an ordinary spoon) and stir it all up nicely. Then strain the liquid into an ice-filled “old fashioned” glass.
