Hot Toddy

A Hot Toddy is just the thing when you’re feeling a bit under the weather. Who said you can’t drink cocktails when you have the flu?!

One of my father-in-law’s specialities, though I think he makes it up as he goes along, and adds way more whisky than is strictly necessary!

What you need

  • 1 spoon of runny hunny (yes, I’m a Winnie The Pooh fan)
  • 2 shots of Scotch whisky
  • 1/2 shot of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 shot of sugar syrup
  • 3 dried cloves
  • Boiling water (as much as required to top up)

What you do

Place a bar spoon loaded with the honey into a warmed toddy glass, add the other ingredients and stir until all the honey has dissolved. Garnish with a stick of cinnamon.
